Dwindling Autumn: Garnet and Hand-cut Gem Necklace
These pieces are about finding beauty in Autumn's last foliage as well as the skeletal trees it leaves behind after it falls. Engravings of bare branches as they lie dormant until next spring are punctuated by golden glimmers of topaz and criss-crossed with Rutilated Quartz.
A sparkling merlot-coloured reclaimed garnet sits above a local Ontario gemstone that I hand-cut myself in a lapidary workshop. Stones are set in a hand-fabricated sterling silver pendant. Pendant measures 1.5" tall and hangs on an 18" silver chain.
