Let me tell you about Slashpile's humble beginnings and I'll end with an exciting sale announcement  :)

In the fall of 2008, my twin sister, Courtney, and I had just graduated from OCAD and then worked the summer tree planting. We had saved enough to rent out a small workspace and purchase our blowtorch. We worked at a small desk that was not the right height for making jewellery, and the heating often stopped working in our studio. We spent countless hours making pieces for our launch sale. On November 9 of that year, we launched our business on our birthday. We invited everyone we knew to our parents' house to "buy yourself a present for our birthday". It was a success, and we went on to pitch our line to boutiques across Canada, participate in many markets, and develop our online shops. I've had the honour of making special and meaningful heirloom pieces for so many people. I've felt so lucky to be able to support myself doing a job that I love, and I'm proud to have been able to run this business for so long.
