As you may have gathered, Tara and I love making things...not limited to jewellery and silversmithing! Here are some photos of the quilt we made as a wedding present for Blythe and JP. :)
The quilt is made from batik fabrics, which are hand dyed in Indonesia with a wax-resist method. This method creates beautiful subtle patterns. Check out Flare Fabrics to see more of these beautiful fabrics.
We spent many hours making this quilt, from cutting and piecing the fabric for the top (making the pinwheel squares and then joining them together!), putting the back together, securing the layers together (top, batting and backing) and then manoeuvring the entire thing around a sewing machine to do the topstitching and finally adding the red binding!
